David Benowitz

David Benowitz is a well-known and respected Maryland criminal defense attorney. He began his career with the prestigious Public Defender Service for the District of Columbia, consistently rated one of the best public defender’s offices in the country. As a staff attorney he represented thousands of clients on allegations of the most serious nature, including First-Degree Murder, Armed Robbery, and First-Degree Sex Offenses. He has tenaciously and successfully represented both juveniles and adults in complex criminal litigation before judges and juries.

Upon graduating with honors from The University of Pennsylvania with a bachelor’s degree, David attended The George Washington University School of Law where he graduated near the top of his class. He was an active member of the school’s law review and moot court society. After several years of practice, David returned to the Temple University’s Beasley School of Law to earn an advanced degree in trial advocacy.

David has been awarded the highest AV rating by Martindale Hubbell and enjoys the perfect score of 10/10 on the highly respected AVVO rating system.

Mr. Benowitz is a faculty member at Harvard Law School’s nationally-known Trial Advocacy Workshop, as well as a Professorial Lecturer in Law at the George Washington University Law School. He is a member of the National Trial Lawyers Association – Top 100 Trial Lawyers.
