Carroll County Courthouse

The Carroll County District Court is located at 101 North Court Street in Westminster, Maryland. The court is open Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 4:30pm. Unfortunately, there is no public transportation in Westminster; however, behind the courthouse and on the streets, there is plenty of free and metered parking. The courthouse is also located within walking distance of Main St, where there are a number of small restaurants and coffee houses. Cell phones are currently not permitted in the court. Starting in 2011, cell phones will be permitted in the courthouse, but they must be either turned off or put on silent mode in the courtroom. The Carroll County Circuit Court is located next to the district courthouse at 55 North Court Street in Westminster. The court is open Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 4:30pm. There is plenty of parking around the court. There is a parking lot behind the Vietnam Memorial and the Court Annex. There is also parking on Willis St. People are permitted to carry cell phones into the courtroom but are subject to strict regulation.

Driving Directions to District Court

101 North Court Street Westminster, MD 21157 General Information: The Historic Courthouse takes up a small block and its entrance is at the end of the first block of Court Street, one block off of Main Street. It contains three courtrooms. The Courthouse Annex across the road at 55 N. Court Street houses the remaining Circuit Courtrooms, the Clerks’ Offices, and Land Records. District Court is located at 101 N. Court Street. From the Baltimore Beltway, take Exit 19 (I-795 North), then West on Rt. 140. When you reach Westminster drive past Target, McDonald’s, etc., turn left at the light at Ralph Street (there will be a turn lane and as you turn Koon’s Toyota will be on your right). Go straight one block until the road ends at the stop sign. From Rt. 27 (Taylorsville area), when you get to Westminster turn right onto Main Street, continue on Main Street and turn left onto Center Street. Turn right onto Willis at the first stop sign. Go straight one block until the road ends. You will see the Historical Courthouse on your right and you will see the Courthouse Annex ahead of you at the stop sign. From Rt. 97 (Eldersburg area), when you get to Westminster turn left onto Main, continue on Main Street and turn right onto Center Street. Turn right onto Willis Street at the first stop sign. Go straight one block until the road ends. You will see the Historical Courthouse on your right and you will see the Courthouse Annex ahead of you at the stop sign. The entrance to the Courthouse Annex from Court is closed at 4:30 P.M., however, after 4:30 P.M. you may enter the building by the back door from the parking lot.
