Washington County Criminal Lawyer

If you have received a criminal charge in Washington County Maryland, you should consider seeking a criminal attorney as soon as possible to handle your defense.  There are many types of charges that you could be facing, ranging in severity from basic misdemeanors to serious felonies. If you are facing a misdemeanor or felony, contact a local Washington County criminal lawyer who can help explain your options. Some examples include but are not limited to assault, burglary, harassment, malicious mischief, solicitation, drug offenses, sex offenses, homicide, domestic violence, driving under the influence and robbery.  Often times, arrests can stem from routine traffic stops or simple questioning.
Should you be pulled over or questioned by police, you should know that you are not obligated to make any statements that could potentially be used against you in your case.  Decline to speak with authorities prior to consulting with your attorney and being advised about that the best course of action is as you move forward with your case.  It is also not necessary for law enforcement to read you your rights before you are taken into custody, but these rights still exist.  Thus, it is important that you are knowledgeable about what these rights are.
Should you be arrested in Washington County, your case will likely be held at the District Courthouse, located at 36 W. Antietam Street in Hagerstown, Maryland. The best outcome for your case requires the assistance of a strong and experienced attorney who can ensure that your rights are protected to the fullest extent of the law. Be prepared for your court date at the Washington County Courthouse. Find information about parking, hours of operation, and the cell phone policy. The specific type of charge you are facing, as well as the penalties that could ultimately come with a conviction depend on a number of factors that are unique to our case.
The best way to make sure that you have a complete understanding of what is on the line when you have been charged is to contact one of the attorneys with our firm and set up a free consultation where you will be able to review the facts of your case.
