The penalties for using a fake ID can vary widely in Maryland, depending on how the crime is charge. Using a fake ID allows for the suspension of a driver’s license, fines, and possibly even jail time.
According to the Maryland Transportation Code §16–206, the MVA will suspend the license of anyone who uses a fake ID or allows his or her license to be used in a fraudulent manner.

If a teen does not have a license, he or she will be prevented from obtaining one for six months from the date of the disposition, or, if he or she is under 16, for six months after his or her 16th birthday.
